How do you cheer someone up?

I make a stupid video. Recently my sister had a health scare and wound up in the emergency room. I had called my parents as I usually do on a Sunday. They let me prattle on for a good five minutes or so about what a good time I’m having in Athens. Looking back I should be embarrassed at how dull I am. I almost posted pictures of shelves in my last post! They listened for far too long before my mother matter of factly says, “Your sister had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance.” I was floored! I’m not necessarily the best in emergencies, giving advice, or brain surgery, but usually at the beginning of a phone call during the “hello, how are you?” part, that might be the best time to bring that little tidbit up! Right?

I texted my sister this cheer-up video. It’s not going to make “America’s got talent” or anything, but it’s immediate and uncomplicated. I sent it to her wishing her get well etc. and she texted back her thanks and filled me in on the specifics. She was already being discharged and then sent me a gif of the evil guy from one of the Minions movies wearing a cheesy track suit doing a dance. I guess if you can send dancing gifs you’re doing alright. I realized I didn’t have a track suit and told her I need to get one. (for any future videos!) and she agreed.

I had a track suit. Warm-up suit, I think I called it. It was around 1980, I was in wrestling and it was so natural to that time, nobody I knew stopped to think for one atomic second how weird and silly they were on most people. Mine, I had several, but the one I remember was a navy blue with one thin white line of pipping up the side of the legs and arms. The legs had zippers that started at the bottom and ended just below the knee on the outside of the leg. We were coming off the 70’s so flared bell bottoms were pretty recent history and if you unzipped the zippers you would have the appearance of having these great polyester bell bottoms. YEESH! I totally understand why Punk came along. Eye-roll emoji.

I was drawing musicians again . Jazz at Cafe’ Nero in Xarchiah.

They did a version of a Sammy Davis Jr song called “Work Song” that was awesome.
