I’m still organizing my schedule and so far I’m appearing EVERYWHERE! I have been making regular appearances at my espresso machine. I love making appearances sleeping on my bed… I will do overtime for that!
My neighbor wanted to decorate a small coffee table to match the gold/brass trim in her apartment. Molly managed to involve me and me being me, I suggested the more labor intensive solution. I know a little bit about gilding and haven’t done it for a long time so that was what I got myself in to. As far as the difficulty level, it’s pretty easy. The tricky part is laying down the size, or glue, that the gold leaf will adhere to. There is a specific window that you can apply the leaf. It doesn’t change color or any other thing to signal that it’s good to go. According to the directions I have a 24 hr window but if the surface is more absorbent it can be dramatically shorter. My neighbor already gave me food in appreciation so I have to get it right!
Creepy thing that happened to me recently. I was at a friend’s place and they speak Spanish so the TV that was on was all in Spanish. I only pulled my phone out to check the time. When I got home I looked at my phone for messages and there was a note that Duolingo was offering to help me with my Spanish. I haven’t used Duolingo to learn Spanish in almost two years because I was focusing mostly on my Greek. I feel betrayed by my phone and don’t trust it even more. I immediately deleted Duolingo and canceled my subscription. I know there are plenty of other apps listening in on me but this one was so blatant! I’m going to attempt to learn my languages other ways now.
