Food adventures
Athens, January, 2023
I had dinner at a restaurant named “Kulinaristan” that charged 20 Euros a person. The chef had been an activist helping out at a squat at City Plaza (in Athens) over ten years ago. There wasn’t a menu, you were at the mercy of the chef. I had no idea what to expect. Our friend Matt made reservations and told us we’d like it. I guess we were also at his mercy to start with. Ha! We asked for wine as we waited for our friends to show up. There were five of us total and it turned out to be really amazing food. They had a souped up Datsun with a pair of legs from a mannequin in the back seat that was the mascot of the restaurant. Can a car be a mascot?.. We staggered away full and drunk in the end. I still want to try giving that Datsun a spin!
Food coma achieved, most of us staggered with our affliction to a bar that had some historic significance that I was told about but cannot remember. They played an eclectic string of songs. Mostly American music from the last 60 years.

I’m eating a hunk of Mozzarella cheese.
The range of what I do. I know in the past I have eaten things that had fallen on the floor. This gives more significance that I ate in a nice restaurant because that is the rarity and therefore a more special event because I have eaten something off the floor probably more times than I have dined in a nice restaurant. Also, if I eat something that fell on the floor, I do not refer to it as “dining”. I first look around for any potential witnesses I might have to silence before snatching the morsel back from the floor keeping in check with the five second rule. I usually, Usually adhere very strictly with that rule but there have been exceptions. The only specific incident I can recall being an M&M I found in my studio. Hard casing candy shell, also I had been eating them the night before so I deemed it safe. and delicious.
I’m appearing at places now. This Saturday Feb. 21st! I Heart Horror with a bunch of Troma folks. It’s in Sayreville, NJ so if you are in the New York/New Jersey area it is possible to get there relatively longly. Traffic! ugh.
The same week as I Heart Horror, I won’t be but my art WILL be appearing at Original Art Expo in Florida Feb 20-22. I have “a guy” who will have my art and a bunch of other original art to sell. His name is Zaddick and he’s a pretty cool person! Tell him you know me and he’ll still charge you anyway. Heh.
Feb. 27-March 1st Long Island Convention of Horror. Are we noticing a theme here?
I’m also taking commissions for the conventions so if you give me a few weeks before a con, I can bring the finished art to you at the con that you think you’ll be at. Pretty spiffy how that might work!
I have a calendar page you can bookmark if you are so inclined. I’m slowly going through my website to make it a bit more efficient.

CAN a car be a mascot? A masCARt, maybe? 🤪
