Art to buy.
Does anyone here like original art? I and my art will be appearing at the same time at Graphfix Con Original art show Sunday MAY 17th. Midtown Hilton 1335 6th Avenue NYC. I’ve been tabling at this show for about 3 years in a row. It’s a nice one day event put on by a new friend Zaddick. He’s a really nice guy and has some great art to sell (besides mine:) It’s mostly comic book art and some fantasy illustration. There are comic books as well. I will have some Toxic Avenger art with me. Interior black and white art and a few painted covers. I will also have other card art I’ve done for Marvel, and Topps. I am always open for commissions. If you contact me here and give me a few weeks I can have it ready for you to pick up at the con. OR I can send it to you.
I enjoy making art. Sometimes it’s on the darker side, sometimes it’s not. I guess it’s up to the viewer. I met a woman from a northern country, like Norway or something many years ago. She had worked on the Simpsons animations for a while. She showed me her paintings. They looked very Simpsonesque in style. One image was a woman in a blue dress with a woman’s high heeled shoe imbedded in the crotch area. I immediately thought this was coming from some traumatic experience in her life. I asked her about it and she said it was something she just found funny. It was a strong image but I found it disturbing. I should have followed up about this humor angle. So Sometimes I let my art go dark. I find it cathartic sometimes. Art is like that.
